While Atlantis Fish Bar generally receives rave reviews, some diners have noted peak hours can lead to longer waits, especially on busy Fridays. This rush can be slightly overwhelming for those aiming for a quick meal. Although they do their best to manage the flow, customers should be prepared for crowds during the most popular dinner hours.
Another point of contention is the limited menu offering for those hoping to find battered chips, which have drawn a sigh from some patrons accustomed to enjoying them along with their fish. Additionally, while the nice decor adds charm, some believe the prices for dining in can be a tad higher than takeaway options, leaving diners to weigh the benefits against their budget during busy meals.
🧂 Fish & Chips with a Side of Charm 🐟🍟 Tucked away like a hidden gem, this delightful fish and chips shop serves up more than just a meal—it’s an experience. I popped in for their lunchtime special and was greeted with a plate that felt like a warm hug: a modest yet satisfying portion of freshly fried fish, golden chips, a slice of soft bread, and a comforting cup of tea to round it all off. What truly sets this place apart is the freshness. The fish is cooked to order, arriving at the table steaming hot with a crisp, golden batter that crackles at first bite. It’s the kind of detail that makes you pause and appreciate the craft. The ambiance? Think rustic charm meets seaside nostalgia. Wooden accents, cozy seating, and a gentle hum of conversation—it felt more like dining in a countryside inn than a chip shop. A perfect midday escape for anyone craving comfort food with character.
Hands down, the best Fish & Chips in the Midlandss. They must use much better frying oil because the batter is tasty & edible unlike many others places these days. Pay a little bit extra for eat in & get the extra benefit of unlimited condiments. Great if you need lots of vinegar like me. Highly recommended - give them a try
I was one of their first customers when they opened about 10 years ago. I was very impressed. The decor and lay out was nice. The place was clean airy. The restaurant section at the back has a touch of class about it. The customer service was excellent. The staff were great. And the food was amazing quality. I recently went back, having not been there for a few years, and I'm pleased to say it's as good as ever. You'll find it difficult to find another chip shop in Birmingham with better batter than Atlantis. Their chips are amazing, too. I highly recommend 👌🏾
Absolutely the best Cod fish and chips in town
Had a delicious supper of fish and chips. The service was top notch, great to see a service with a smile which is rare these days. Being from the Black Country, shame battered chips isn’t on the menu, Brummies you’re missing out.
Clearly a good fish and chip shop, given the queue of people waiting to be served! We chose to eat in the small restaurant area at the back. Not long to wait for our fish and chips, which were perfect!
Absolutely fantastic chip shop! The place was spotlessly clean, and the service was incredibly quick. The portions were generous, and the quality of the food was excellent. Best of all, it’s amazing value for money—hard to find a better deal anywhere else. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!
